Memorandum of cooperation as a start for installing new cogeneration units

"I met with Ralf Grotenhoff, the head of the Strengthening Urban Resilience Project, GIZ UA (Germany), and the project team.

We talked about the prospects for installing new cogeneration units in the community as part of the project. We signed a memorandum and are starting to implement this project.

Our utility company, “Teplocomunenergo”, has been operating in war for three years. The residents of Khmelnytskyi continue to receive quality services, and the company is being modernised. We have been working with cogeneration for many years and are a leader in Ukraine in its implementation. We want the heat supply service in the community to be as autonomous as possible. We have an example when, after a power outage due to a hit to a power facility, we restored heating in the city within 40 minutes.

I am pleased to hear that GIZ considers us a very good partner, and I thank the team, the German Government and taxpayers for their support!

I am sure that we have many interesting projects ahead of us.

The Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH has been supporting Ukraine since 1993. The company's main areas of activity in Ukraine are good governance, sustainable society, economic development, energy and climate protection.

Let's keep working..." - said Mayor Oleksandr Symchyshyn on his Facebook page.
