Memorandum signed on cooperation for technical assistance under the Pro-Integrity project: “Promoting integrity in public space”

"Today, I signed a Memorandum of Cooperation on the provision of technical assistance under the Pro-Integrity project: “Promoting Integrity in Public Space”. The project is fully supported and funded by the US agency USAID and the UK's UK International Development. We are one of 22 communities selected for the pilot project in Ukraine. The project envisages, among other things, assessment of governance and corruption risks and their prevention, increased transparency, regulatory policy improvement measures, new digital solutions, and partnership with international institutions.

We are working to build transparent and integrity-based governance in our community, strengthen the effectiveness of the public integrity system and implement effective anti-corruption strategies that would minimise corruption and increase public trust in government institutions.

During the signing ceremony, the project leaders praised the work of the city council in the field of integrity and anti-corruption activities. Some of our experience will be shared with other project participants. An example of such steps is the creation of a geoportal that contains information from completely different areas of our city and is available to every citizen in the public domain. It also involves engaging citizens in discussing important issues through polls and public discussions, open budget, etc.

Pro-Integrity is the largest anti-corruption initiative since independence, aimed at increasing transparency and accountability in the Ukrainian public sector.

We are sincerely glad to have such cooperation and reliable partners of our community.

Let's keep working...", said Mayor Oleksandr Symchyshyn on his Facebook page.
