€2.12 million grant attracted for wastewater treatment plant reconstruction and solar power installation

"We work not only at the expense of taxpayers. Once again, we are actively attracting extra-budgetary resources.

Our delegation in Helsinki, consisting of Vasyl Novachok and Oleksandr Nadolnyi, officially signed a grant agreement with the Nordic Environment Finance Corporation (NEFCO) and the Danida Sustainable Infrastructure Fund under the Water and Wastewater Sector Programme to finance the project ‘Reconstruction of Sewage Treatment Plants and Installation of Solar Electric Panels’.

The amount of the grant we have managed to attract is EUR 2 million 120 thousand!

These funds will be provided by NEFCO directly to the contractors who will start the reconstruction of our sewage treatment plant and installation of a solar power plant.

The project envisages the construction of a new facility with a mechanical treatment unit consisting of automated mechanical fine screens and aerated sand traps with a throughput capacity of 60,000 m3/day, as well as the installation of an 841 kW solar power plant.

The project will provide significant savings on energy costs. Savings are estimated to be 807 MWh per year (15% of annual energy consumption), which is equivalent to UAH 7.9 million in monetary terms. The energy generated by the solar panels will cover 4% of the water utility's total demand.

We continue to work..." - said the Mayor Oleksandr Symchyshyn on his Facebook page.
