Results summarized for the project “Support for rapid economic recovery of Ukrainian municipalities”

On 24-25 March, the final conference of the Support for Rapid Economic Recovery of Ukrainian Municipalities (SRER) project took place in Kyiv. The project lasted from 2022 to 2025 and was implemented by UNDP in Ukraine in cooperation with GIZ Ukraine with financial support from the German government.

The SRER project in Khmelnytskyi overhauled and completely renovated the Detsky Mir Shopping Centre, which has become a modern business space that will facilitate the development of local and relocated businesses.

In general, the project resulted in:

the creation of innovative business spaces and entrepreneurship support centres in nine communities of Ukraine;

the restoration of water supply infrastructure in three communities in industrial zones where many micro, small and medium-sized enterprises are concentrated.

In addition, the project trained teams from all 12 municipalities to strengthen their capacity to implement recovery projects and develop economic potential at the local level.

The conference became a platform for discussing the project's achievements, sharing experiences, and identifying ways to further support local businesses in the target communities. Khmelnytskyi was represented by Deputy Mayor Mykola Vavryshchuk, Head of the Housing and Property Department Nataliia Vitkovska, and Head of the Economics Department Nataliia Sakharova.
