In 2024, the “Khmelnytskyi Development Agency” focused its work on several key areas aimed at strengthening international cooperation, creating a positive image of the community, conducting training and professional events, and attracting non-budgetary funds to implement the city's strategic initiatives.
The main achievements of the year include the establishment of new partnerships with international organisations and foundations, including:
UNDP for the implementation of the “Enhanced Partnership for Sustainable Recovery” project;
EGAP (Government of Switzerland) to develop e-governance and increase transparency of government interaction with the community;
Council of Europe to strengthen democracy and civic participation in the war and post-war period;
International Republican Institute (IRI) to improve the skills of local government employees and volunteers;
USAID and FCDO to support transparent governance projects, such as PRO-INTEGRITY, which promotes the development and
As part of its participation in the “Open Government Partnership” Initiative, the Agency prepared a report on the implementation of the first Action Plan, started work on the second Action Plan, and held a Youth Hackathon to develop ideas with students from local universities.
One of the important areas of the Agency's work has been the study of progress in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals. The Khmelnytskyi community became the second in the country to conduct such a thorough study, which helped attract donors and became an important tool for planning the city's development.
During the year, the Agency supported 15 business entities in attracting extra-budgetary funds through grant programmes, including initiatives for healthcare facilities, energy efficiency and support for veterans.
In addition, 10 sociological surveys were conducted, the results of which helped to identify current challenges and set benchmarks for future community initiatives. Together with the structural units of Khmelnytsky City Council, a series of intensive training sessions for local entrepreneurs was held, with over 150 participants. Topics ranged from obtaining grants to using IT solutions for business development.
Thanks to close cooperation with international partners, the Khmelnytskyi community is strengthening its position even in times of war by actively working towards sustainable development. The Khmelnytskyi Development Agency continues to expand international cooperation and attract new opportunities for community development.
